Steve Jobs 1955 – 2011
October 5th, 2011
No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

iPhone OS 4 Live Coverage
April 8th, 2010Apple Releases iPhone 3.2 SDK – No Leopard Build, Only Snow Leopard?
April 3rd, 2010I just logged into Apple’s Developer section to download the new iPhone 3.2 SDK and to my surprise there is no build for Leopard, just a build for Snow Leopard. After digging around in the iPhone SDK Release notes I found out that Apple isn’t going to release a build for Leopard.
iPhone SDK 3.2 provides support for developing iPad applications and includes the complete set of Xcode 3.2.2 tools, compilers, and frameworks for creating applications for iPhone OS and Mac OS X. These tools include the Xcode IDE and the Instruments analysis tool among many others.
With this software you can develop applications that run on iPad using the included iPhone Simulator, which runs iPhone OS 3.2. Additionally, you can develop applications for iPhone and iPod touch, which run on iPhone OS 3.1.3. (This software does not include all of the iPhone OS 2.x SDKs.) Installing iPhone SDK 3.2 requires a Macintosh computer running Mac OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) or later.
This means if you want to write apps for the iPad you will need an Intel Mac and Snow Leopard. I would also assume that this means the new iPhone 4.0 SDK will be the same way.
Best Sales Day Ever for AT&T & iPhone 3GS
July 3rd, 2009MacDailyNews is reporting that a leaked AT&T memo talks about iLaunchDay 2009. According to a leaked AT&T memo, the launch day of the iPhone 3GS was the best-ever sales day in the retail store. Here is a list of milestone achieved:
- Best-ever sales day in our retail stores
- Second-largest traffic day in our retail stores
- Most transactions processed via our IT systems in a single day
- Most upgrade eligibility checks in a single day
- Largest order day in att.com history
- Largest features sales day in att.com history
On this year’s launch day, iPhone sales exceeded sales recorded on 2008′s iPhone launch day, Black Friday 2008 and Dec. 26, 2008 — all heavy-volume sales days. In fact, this year we surpassed 2008′s launch day sales at about noon Central time, and sustained our previous peak hour record, also set in 2008, for 11 straight hours.

CUPERTINO, California—June 22, 2009—Apple® today announced that it has sold over one million iPhone™ 3GS models through Sunday, June 21, the third day after its launch. In addition, six million customers have downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 software in the first five days since its release.
iPhone 3.0 apps not compatible with older iPhone OS?
June 17th, 2009Before I upgraded to the new iPhone 3.0 OS I updated my apps and tried to sync it to my iPhone and I got a little surprise. I got a popup stating that 3 of my apps are not compatible with my iPhone. After I upgraded to iPhone 3.0 OS everything is good. All my apps updated just fine. But if you have an iPod Touch and are not planning to install the latest OS make sure to check out your apps before you update them. If you update them they might not work on the older OS.
