Best Sales Day Ever for AT&T & iPhone 3GS

July 3rd, 2009

MacDailyNews is reporting that a leaked AT&T memo talks about iLaunchDay 2009. According to a leaked AT&T memo, the launch day of the iPhone 3GS was the best-ever sales day in the retail store. Here is a list of milestone achieved:

    • Best-ever sales day in our retail stores
    • Second-largest traffic day in our retail stores
    • Most transactions processed via our IT systems in a single day
    • Most upgrade eligibility checks in a single day
    • Largest order day in att.com history
    • Largest features sales day in att.com history

On this year’s launch day, iPhone sales exceeded sales recorded on 2008’s iPhone launch day, Black Friday 2008 and Dec. 26, 2008 — all heavy-volume sales days. In fact, this year we surpassed 2008’s launch day sales at about noon Central time, and sustained our previous peak hour record, also set in 2008, for 11 straight hours.

iPhone 3.0 apps not compatible with older iPhone OS?

June 17th, 2009

Before I upgraded to the new iPhone 3.0 OS I updated my apps and tried to sync it to my iPhone and I got a little surprise. I got a popup stating that 3 of my apps are not compatible with my iPhone. After I upgraded to iPhone 3.0 OS everything is good. All my apps updated just fine. But if you have an iPod Touch and are not planning to install the latest OS make sure to check out your apps before you update them. If you update them they might not work on the older OS.

iPhone new app rating systems allow nudity in apps?

June 15th, 2009

With the release of iPhone 3.0 OS only a 2 days away Apple has started updating apps in the iTunes Apps Store  with the new ratings for apps. I was looking around in the games section and I found QL Bikini Beach Edition and it is Rated 12+ for “Infrequent/Mild Sexual Content or Nudity”. Is Apple going to open up the iPhone Apps section and allow Adult type content?

Complete iPhone Rumor Round-up

June 7th, 2009

Here is a run down of all the iPhone rumors over the past few weeks. There are a couple rumors about a 4GB iPhone and having 4 models of the iPhone. I hope this becomes a reality. I thinks that the iPhone Market share would double in a less than a year if they did this. One other rumor is that the iPhone is going to have add Parental Controls for Apps. I hope they do this. It would allow Apple to lessen the restriction on the Apps that get submitted. I mean no more rejected apps because you can read the Kama Sutra. Now to the list of rumors.

Journey on writing an iPhone app

May 31st, 2009

I’ve been following a couple of different guys on there journey to write an iPhone app. CollegeKidApp.com and SycloneFX.com are on a journey to write their first iPhone app.

CollegeKidApp.com is a team of three college kids from Valparaiso University who are looking to make an iPhone application to see on the iTunes App Store this summer.

SycloneFX.com is in the early stages of his journey. He has had very little coding experience. At the current time he is learning C programming and is working his way up to Objective-C and Coca.

I’ll keep you posted on their progress.

Whats missing from the iPhone

May 22nd, 2009

Since iPhone 3.0 about to be released I thought I would post my opinion on what the iPhone is missing feature wise.

  1. A universial location for all apps to store files. Each app has it own file storage location making it a pain for the end user. If their was one universal location for all apps to store files it would be easier to download a text file using an FTP program and edit that file and post it to the web.
  2. The capability to use any song on the iPhone as a ring tone. My old Motorola Razor could do this why can’t the iPhone?
  3. The ability to record video. You should be able to capture a video and then upload it to YouTube or your MobileMe account.
  4. The ability to transfer files using Bluetooth. Once again my old Motorola Razor could do this why can’t my iPhone.

Now that you know what I think is missing, here is a list of things to come in iPhone 3.0.

  • MMS
  • Subscription bases apps
  • In app purchases
  • Peer to peer conductivity
  • Better accessories Support
  • Push Notification
  • Cut, Copy and Paste
  • Send multiple photos in an email
  • Landscape keyboard in all iPhone key applications
  • Forward and Delete single or multiple SMS messages
  • Voice Memos recording
  • Share Calendars
  • Stocks app improvements
  • Search in all iPhone key applications
  • Spotlight search app
  • Notes sync
  • Stereo Bluetooth
  • Improved features for Safari
  • More parental controls
  • Over 100 new features in total!!!

Limited supply for the Pre on launch day

May 20th, 2009

Sprint’s CEO, Dan Hesse anticipates that the Pre will be in limited supply on launch day. Are they anticipating a buying frenzy for the Pre or are the creating a shortage to make it sound like the Pre is selling really well?
I don’t know about you but every one I have talked to about the Pre didn’t even know when it was coming out.
